Jennette “Kandi” Gray-Firefighter/EMT Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Chief Fernando Gray’s departed mother, Jennette “Kandi” Gray. Jennette was born and raised in the segregated South. This scholarship is an opportunity and tool for a resident of Aurora to pursue a career in fire/EMS.

Eligible students will meet the following criteria:

1. Applicants must have earned a high school diploma or GED and have (and maintain) a GPA of at least 2.5.
2. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester that the scholarship is received.
3. Preference will be given to a student that resides in the City of Aurora.
4. Preference will be given to a student from an underrepresented group such as female or a student of color.
5. Preference will be given to students pursuing an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic Certificate.
